BREAKING: Ottawa, Alberta close to reaching industrial carbon pricing deal, the Globe and Mail reports. The reported compromise could involve keeping the industrial carbon price near the current $110/tonne level, but slowing future increases toward Ottawa’s planned path to 2040, while offering credits or more flexibility tied to pipeline expansion and carbon capture investments. This may sound like an oil story, but it’s also a food story. Higher energy costs affect trucking, fertilizer, refrigeration, processing and distribution across Canada. If Alberta gets flexibility, expect other industries and provinces to ask for the same.

@fordnation Trumps tariffs have absolutely nothing to do with my household budget. Calling squirrel again doesn't work.

People across Ontario are feeling the impact of global uncertainty and President Trump’s tariffs on their household budgets. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to cut taxes, lower fees and make life more affordable for Ontario families.

In times like these, Canadians need to be united. Unfortunately, Conservatives have chosen to divide Canadians with misinformation and bogus separation movements. Never forget that.

@KirkLubimov This is why Carney wanted a majority so he could push through all the desired legislation with no Conservative opposition.

Holly shit❗️ Mark Carney thinks our effective carbon price is too low; "The effective carbon price in this country is actually quite low relative to the headline price,in the $20 to $30 range in most Canadian markets. And that's something we're working to rectify." The industrial carbon tax price increased to $110 this year, with a plan to increase it to a minimum of $130 and all the way to $170 around 2030. Do you understand how MASSIVE the increase to these levels will be to cost of things in Canada and how uncompetitive our industries will be!?

@sarobertsonca Must pay attention Scott Reid, Poilievre is criticizing Carney's poor actions, or non-actions actually, that are damaging the economy.

Scott Reid: "Mr. Poilievre has spent the last three, four, five days insisting that Mr. Carney just ain't that bright, that he's uneducated and that he's unqualified to manage an economy. He looks whiny. He looks like he's bitter and he looks like he's lashing out."
