Hon’ble Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to keep passengers at the heart of aviation, inaugurated a series of passenger-centric initiatives across airports in India.
From UDAN Yatri Cafes and Digi Yatra to enhanced infrastructure, free Wi-Fi, kids zones, Flybraries and AVSAR outlets these initiatives aim to make air travel more accessible, seamless, and comfortable for every traveller.
A significant step towards building a modern, inclusive and passenger-first aviation ecosystem in India.

@MoCA_GoI No response yet from anyone. Why were the counters closed?
English

The Ministry has issued the following directions through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA):
1. Minimum 60% of seats on any flight to be allocated free of charge to ensure fair access
2. Passengers travelling on the same PNR to be seated together, preferably in adjacent seats
3. Carriage of sports equipment and musical instruments to be facilitated in a transparent and passenger-friendly manner, subject to applicable safety and operational regulations. Airlines shall also bring out clear, transparent policies for carriage of pets.
4. Strict adherence to passenger rights framework, particularly in cases of delays, cancellations and denied boarding
5. Prominent display of passenger rights across airline websites, mobile applications, booking platforms, and airport counters
6. Clear communication of passenger entitlements in regional languages to ensure wider accessibility and awareness
The Ministry of Civil Aviation remains committed to enhancing passenger experience, ensuring transparency, reducing grievances and upholding the highest standards of safety across the aviation ecosystem.

@MoCA_GoI The question is not refund here. You are completely ignoring the irresponsibility of an airline here
English

@MoCA_GoI Thank you for noticing this. The question here is not the refund. Because of the airlines irresponsibility and negligence, we had to pay 50k more. I am still asking the question here. Why were the counters intentionally closed in a time of emergency?

English

@IndiGo6E I have shared it 5 times till now. Your customer care is even worse than your service. If you are not planning to take action then be clear about it here itself. I shall be moving this to consumer forum now

@IndiGo6E @IndiGo6E yet no calls from your team. You cannot misguide people on social media platforms by saying team reached out. Again no reply on why the counters were closed. The airlines is answerable to this at the least @MoCA_GoI @narendramodi @RamMNK @DGCAIndia

@HSuraliwala Hi, we believe our team was able to connect with you over a call and had shared the necessary information with you already. We look forward to your kind understanding on the same. ~Dhruv

Due to airspace restrictions over Iran and parts of the Middle East, 410 flights of domestic carriers were cancelled on 28 February, and 444 flights are expected to be cancelled on 1 March.
DGCA is maintaining close coordination with airlines to ensure full compliance with safety and operational regulations. Passengers are advised to check and confirm their flight status with the respective airlines before proceeding to the airport.
Major airports remain on operational alert to manage potential diversions and ensure seamless passenger facilitation. Passenger assistance, airline coordination, and terminal crowd management are being closely monitored, with senior officials deployed on the ground.
The Ministry’s Passenger Assistance Control Room (PACR) continues to closely monitor passenger concerns and facilitate prompt redressal. On 28 February, AirSewa recorded 216 grievances, and 105 grievances were resolved during the same period ensuring necessary support to affected passengers.
All stakeholders are working in coordination to ensure orderly handling of affected passengers and timely assistance to all concerned travellers.

@IndiGo6E Please get your facts right. I was told that I shall be contacted by someone senior from Indigo. I suppose my last resort here is reach out to consumer forum. There is not single convincing reply on why the counters were closed. @DGCAIndia @RamMNK how is this normal and fair?
