Competition ratios released this week by NHSE show a significant increase in the numbers of applications for core training roles.  Successive governments have failed to deliver enough training places   The government must now urgently act to solve doctor unemployment.

He said they are “the future of our NHS” adding: “How can we expect you to focus on saving lives when you’re worried about how to make ends meet.” Prof Banfield urged the government to “invest now or pay a much higher price in the future.”
