we've grown our monthly revenue by
5x in the last couple of weeks🤯
here is exactly what moved the needle:
before: focused only on tiktok ads
now: tiktok ads, ugc and influencers
before: focused only on distribution
now: obsessed with product while scaling distribution
before: leaky funnel
now: dialed in bottom of the funnel
before: avoiding retention and trial conversion
now: obsessed with retention and trial conversion
before: we didn't care about user feedback
now: users have our personal phone numbers
before: learning how to work with my cofounder
now: we both know exactly what we need to do
before: scaling at the expense of profits
now: profitmaxxing forcing us to get creative (therefore better)
all of these things combined compound
to give us the results we have today
(this is only iOS btw, don't overlook android)

@JonBuildsHQ The painful problem part is key. I see too many people building solutions looking for a problem. Starting with the pain means your first customer is almost guaranteed to exist.

Most indie devs search for app ideas the wrong way.
Open the App Store.
Pick a category.
Sort by top free.
Scroll until something catches your eye.
Then ask:
How many reviews?
Is it subscription-based?
Is the design polished?
Can I build a better version?
One good app can become your next $10k+ MRR idea.

I'm honestly confused about what's happening with my account.
According to the shadowban checker, my account currently has a Ghost Ban.
I don't spam.
I don't use bots.
I create original content.
I pay for X Premium.
I'm simply an indie developer building in public and sharing my journey.
Reach is everything for small creators, and right now it feels like my account is being limited without any explanation.
If I've violated a rule, please let me know so I can fix it. If this is a mistake, I'd really appreciate a manual review of my account.
I love this platform and want to keep contributing to the developer community, but it's difficult when my posts aren't reaching people.
I'd truly appreciate your help. 🙏

I know that too, and I schedule rest as part of my calendar too. Thing is social media and content creation is new to me, and I was away for 3 years. It's easy for me to slip in into getting addicted to it again.
I will schedule times to visit social media and automate/schedule posts for times I'm not. I will lose a bit of the real time interaction with people, but my mental health is first.

@_frederickjames Makes sense. Scaling volume to let the algo optimize naturally is smart. Out of curiosity, are you using SKAdNetwork or relying on server-side attribution?

thats honestly a REALLY good question
and one i've not thought enough about
i've been operating on vibes so far
my LTV is somewhere between $30 and $60
(barely got one month of data, so volatile)
i basically think: LTV - 15% from apple is break even
so, $20 CPA is fairly healthy
and $10 is really really good
when it comes to scale, i thnik volume is more important than a precise CPA figure, we can scale once the algo has enough signal to handle widening the potential user pool
