@LarryMishel I went to a shared Israeli-Palestinian summer school in the 90s. All Israelis but one (me) ended up going to the army. So they got to "have Palestinian friends", feel good about themselves, and then joined the system of oppression. Does coexistence grow from that?

@Ha_Matar have you written about it. Personally i think it is toxic and counter-productive. I don't see how co-existence ever evolves with such rules in place.

@LarryMishel Within that context, I think the movement can also make mistakes, as in the case of attacking Standing Together. I just don't think that was a right call. But the overall goals and actions of BDS are a good way to pressure Israel into ending its crimes against Palestinians

@LarryMishel That's a separate discussion, too long for this piece. Generally, I think anti-normalization is understandable considering the terrible experience Palestinians have had with Israelis talking coexistence - and then supporting or actively joining in on killing them.

I’ll edit my statement. Non-Jewish antizionists abhor Hebrew as a symbol of Jewish indigeneity and sovereignty. I despise Jewish antizionists more than I despise any human group on the face of this earth. If you knew me, you’d know this is saying a lot I work very hard not to use dehumanize anyone. To use the Hebrew language to spread antizionism, is to profane the language. Let’s try to stay away from each other on X. This is the best I can do given the circumstances.

@Ha_Matar פלפול שלה כי היא זאת שאחרי הרבה שנים של הפסקה מהוצאה בעברית סוף סוף מצאה פיתרון הלכתי אצל מקבילה לסמכות רבנית. והכל בסדר באמת, זה פשוט משעשע אותי והניצחון הוא של הקוראים (כולל אותי), כי אין לי עצבים לקרוא פרוזה באנגלית אף פעם.
