@HabsAddictMtl @Rainmaker1973 You are uninformed about the current recommendations for boosters. Canada still recommends ongoing COVID vaccination, with at least one updated dose per year. Many countries are similar. USA says 6-month old healthy babies can still get it.

Scientists at Stanford Medicine have proposed an explanation for the rare cases of myocarditis that can occur after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. The research points to a two-step inflammatory process involving the cytokines CXCL10 and IFN-gamma. According to the study, vaccine-activated immune cells, particularly macrophages, produce high levels of CXCL10. This molecule then stimulates T cells to release IFN-gamma, creating a potent inflammatory signal that can damage heart muscle cells. The team confirmed this pathway through experiments using human heart tissue models, immune cells, and mice. Importantly, blocking CXCL10 and IFN-gamma reduced signs of heart injury in laboratory models while largely preserving the protective immune response generated by the vaccine. The researchers also tested genistein, a natural compound found in soybeans, which showed anti-inflammatory effects in the models, though further clinical studies are required. Myocarditis following mRNA vaccination is very rare, occurring in approximately 1 in 140,000 people after the first dose and 1 in 32,000 after the second, with higher rates observed in young males. Most cases are mild and resolve with full recovery. The study notes that COVID-19 infection itself carries a significantly higher risk of myocarditis, roughly 10 times greater than vaccination. This work may inform the development of safer future mRNA vaccines while underscoring the established benefits of current ones in preventing severe COVID-19 outcomes. [Cao, X., et al. (2025). Inhibition of CXCL10 and IFN-γ ameliorates myocarditis in preclinical models of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination. Science Translational Medicine, 17(828)]

@CartallicaX1 @Rainmaker1973 People don't really take them anymore unless immunocompromised... There's a reason antivaxx people died at 4 times the rate... Lack of knowledge and lower cognitive functions leading to bad decisions.

@CartallicaX1 @Rainmaker1973 That's the thing about science....it isn't about belief. Believing is when you take anecdotal evidence and make up wrong assumptions based on feelings...like you're doing. It's a sign of lower intelligence.

@Rainmaker1973 I really do NOT believe this part: "The study notes that COVID-19 infection itself carries a significantly higher risk of myocarditis, roughly 10 times greater than vaccination." Injection gives the body MUCH greater exposure to spike protein.

@Rainmaker1973 I stopped reading when it said “rare cases”. That’s a lie. That’s bullshit. People were dropping like flies. People were getting turbo cancers. Athletes dropped dead on the field, court and just about anywhere. Who ever gets another shot is not only doomed but nuts.

@sheri_abernathy @Rainmaker1973 You can't read. The risk of myocarditis is 10x greater from the Covid virus vs the vaccine, the latter cases being extremely rare. They couldn't afford to wait while the pandemic was killing people to make a 100% safe vaccine but made sense to proceed when risk was 1 in 140K.

@thegoldenmuzzy It's the same player. What's different is everything else. Marner was regularly the most productive player on the leafs in the playoffs.

If the Leafs had this version of Mitch Marner in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we're probably talking about a potential dynasty right now.

@K1977Stephen @ZachCaniac Buffalo literally won a game because the puck bounced on the zamboni door crack straight into the goal. I think you guys needs to let go of the copium.

The Canes won with: - MTL getting the bounces - the refs missing/under-calling some egregious penalties that would've favored them - the top line still underperfoming - not much finishing on their chances I'll take that! #SoundtheSiren

@mikemacman21 @NHL_Watcher They have won more games than the Avs during these playoffs... There's that. I don't think anyone forgets that this is far from over against Carolina. I expect them to be much better tomorrow. But everyone assumed it'd the Avs.

If it's Vegas v Montreal in the SCF, Martin St. Louis going up against two of his former head coaches in the same playoffs would be something.

@HFTVSports Haha! To be fair, we have only seen prospects from 3 Drafts, but for one of them, it's only Demidov. So more like 2 Drafts. Basically half of them since the rebuild. Even Kapanen is from the previous admin. So, it isn't really a "full rebuild".

@DrakeMT Not without Makar, honestly. I wasn't impressed by tonight's game and I'm really curious to see what version of Carolina we will see tomorrow because the Habs have a real chance against both Vegas and The makarless Avs

@mndamico Agreed, I was absolutely not impressed tonight. They kept being clogged in the neutral zone or just managing dump-ins with little support to recover the puck. I'm curious to see if we will see the real Carolina tomorrow, cuz otherwise , the Habs have a real chance.

The Colorado Avalanche don't seem to have much in the form of a transition game without Cale Makar from the backend. Really showed in those final minutes unable to set up in Vegas' zone. Such a brutal injury for them at this stage, and Vegas is taking full advantage.

@jimmy_19821793 @xwleblancx @joeyferg My very young kids also watch the games... And they also don't know puck The Habs have had the hardest path the the finals by far. This is not debatable. Facing the 2nd, 4th and 5th best teams in the NHL.

Been listening to a lot more hockey radio and podcasts lately with all the recent Chayka/Matthews/draft lottery/coaching change news but it's all slowly becoming just a big Habs glazing fest so I think I will now stop for a little bit
