@HackingChinese @FGQuismondo @SkritterHQ Thank you for your answer! 😙 I see you have a blog and lots of podcasts. I'm gonna start listening to them today. My goal is to take at least the HSK 6 exam (which, as I'm sure you know, requires handwriting). Do you know any creative ways to combine writing & daily immersion?

Una preguntilal para Don @FGQuismondo: Estoy actualmente aprendiendo chino de manera bastante intensa, con 4 clases a la semana, hablando, etc. ¿Algún consejo sobre métodos para optimizar la adquisición de vocab? Vengo de aprenderlo muy rápido en otros idiomas, y aquí... 🧵⬇️

@SeriozhaES @FGQuismondo @SkritterHQ What level are you on now? I would spend most of my time listening and reading, even if your end-goal involves writing. You'll find plenty of advice on the website and podcast, but feel free to ask here too.

@HackingChinese @FGQuismondo @SkritterHQ Okay, thx for your answer!😀😃I understand your point. Immersion is key. When you're reading, writing, watching videos, etc, how do you manage to learn the characters? If it were French, I could just dive straight in, but I guess Chinese is a lot harder to do that with, right?

@FGQuismondo @SeriozhaES @SkritterHQ I think you need to clarify what you mean by "achieve"! :) The default approach should probably be to ignore HSK completely and just absorb the vocabulary through listening, reading nad meaningful interactions. But that's maybe not the kind of answer you had in mind?

Subtitles and transcripts can help you understand Chinese, but should you read along, read first, or save the text for after you’ve listened? Here's a video lesson from my course, The Fluent Listener: Navigating Spoken Mandarin Like a Fish in Water: youtube.com/watch?v=uYu62e…
