I don't like how the narrative has been about Daigo's age.
It's not his age, it's the game. Other 40+ yr old players have done well in SF6.
SF6's design just doesn't jive with his playstyle & it makes me sad that this one particularly volatile SF has him considering retirement.

Daigo on stream talking about Kemonomichi. He says he seriously planned on retiring if he lost to Mena. The reason being that since SF6 release he has not felt “strong” or the motivation to improve like in his youth in the arcade days. But after 3 months of training, in the final week before the match he thought, “Wait a minute. Am I strong again? This is what it felt like back in the day.” He was incredibly stressed the day before the match and couldn’t eat, and said just walking outside felt like he was already in the fight. He thought he wouldn’t be able to sleep due to stress, but surprisingly fell asleep easily - however when he woke up he had tears in his eyes. He doesn’t know why, but he thinks it’s because he had a dream where he quit Fighting Games. After he lost to Mena, he still thought it was time to retire. But in the taxi ride back to Tokyo, Eita kept bothering him and begging him not to. Daigo agreed just to shut him up, but then he thought back on that feeling of being strong in the last week and thought if he could keep that same motivation and approach he had for Kemonomichi, he could become strong again. For now he has decided to continue competing, but is taking a short rest after the set.

@RealMikeHollow She did artwork based on her Model. Other things taken from her was her merchandise. She got labeled horribly. In the past Gwar Gura was a Loli Vtuber (now Sameko Saba) but yes Yanagi was wrongly arrested for Her Artwork of HER Vtuber Model. Chibi Reviews has a great take on this

The whole discussion around Mimi Yanagi's art work is really interesting and confusing to me. I gotta speak to some Loli enthusiasts and pick their brains because I do not understand the rampant defence of drawing little girls in compromising possessions just because they're not real.
I also find it weird that people aren't referring to the artwork for what it is. Its not drawings of characters like Matsumoto or Tsunade which are just full grown anime women, its drawings of little girls with dummys in their mouths and school back packs. I understand they're not real but at what point does art work start to raise alarm bells? These are genuine questions and not an attack on anyone because I am honestly flabbergasted by what I'm seeing on my feed right now.

UK-based VTuber and artist Mimi Yanagi was arrested on April 20 for her own drawings of anime-style characters. These drawings were 100% fictional, made up by her, with no real people involved. UK law still treats these kinds of drawings as illegal child pornography, police took all her computers and devices. She has now been released on bail, but she is not allowed to post any “adult” content. She must also use an account name approved by the police. The UK is lost, you can’t even draw now, they will put you in prison

@RealMikeHollow I'm used to seeing Loli as characters like Tatsumaki in One Punch Man or seeing 4 '11 women irl. Ive not seen this persons art I doubt many have but it's being attacked because loli.Theres things out there worse than loli but no one talks about it.

@KumaFist Agreed. Last Round is just a reskin. DoA 6 was horrible with DLC costumes just like 5 then having to try and unlock old costumes was time consuming when in DoA2 you got complete costumes for beating the game multiple times. I wonder why they couldn't patch stuff in an update

I worked at a Suncoast from 2003-2007. We were the largest distributor of anime in the area at the time.
I won't say all or most of the "otaku" customers were cringe, but the ones that were... Jesus Christ.
It only got worse when we added the "Hentai" section in 2005 (see photo)
