The paper recommendation: PERT should be the standard of care for the management of patients with acute PE.

Study in Investigative Radiology (2024) showed Aidoc’s AI cut missed incidental PE on chest CT from 50% to 7.1%. Sensitivity 95%, specificity 99%. AI didn’t affect 90-day mortality but greatly improved detection

It’s already in use at several institutions like University Hospitals (OH), UChicago Medicine, UZ Brussel, and major centers in Israel and German

What we have for AI in the field of Pulmonary embolism (PE): Aidoc’s FDA-cleared AI solution for pulmonary embolism detects both acute and incidental PEs on CT scans. It flags PE on PACS/RIS. Not sure if we have it in Canada or been tested here. #Pulmonary embolism #AI
