Over more than a year @davidlammy had one main political priority: to drive up his Twitter following and establish himself as one of British politics' biggest social media players. He was relentless. He was personal. He was nasty (including to me). He was sensationalist. His attack on Ann Widdecombe (below) was a typical footstep on his cynical mission to ingratiate himself with Labour's Left. And he didn't seem to care in any way about who he hurt and how he hurt them. There are many reasons why he Mr Lammy should never have become our country's Deputy PM but his shooting gallery of hateful attacks on opponents tops my list.
