@InclusionCA @YourAlberta It sickens me that Alberta is clawing back the Canada Disability Benefit. It is a historic chance to begin to lift people out of poverty. A very cold and uninformed move.

Congratulations to @MarkJCarney on selecting your Cabinet. Inclusion Canada wishes the new Ministers well as they get up to speed on their portfolios. However, we are disappointed by the decision not to appoint a full minister of disability or even a secretary of state. 27% of Canadians identify as having one or more disabilities - this is more than enough reason to appoint a Minister. #PWD in Canada are eager to see the federal gov't create bold and progressive policies, programs, and laws that remove barriers to inclusion in society. Much work needs to be done, and we will ensure that #pwd and their families are not left behind. Disability inclusion must be a national priority.

“The CDB is meant to be a top-up, not a replacement for provincial disability income support,” said Trish Bowman, CEO of @InclusionAB. Inclusion Canada is greatly concerned by news out of #AB about CDB clawbacks. The benefit is a supplement, not a subtraction. This will not support #PWD to live above the poverty line.
