Gardai deal with stuff day in day out that the rest of us would not be able to cope with. No member of An Gardai wants to be out in a position where they have to physically enforce the law. Shame in the people who put them in this position.

Article 40.6.1° guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peacefully and without weapons.
