So here's the thing. Saleae make solid damn HW, but they also know they are selling to mainly corporate (ie, these things are mega pricey nowadays). If one is in dire need of an affordable alternative, pick up a Pi Pico! 100Msps for single-digit dollars.

using a defocus UV laser it was possible to get selective UV hardening of the solder mask might be slower than a UV lamp but allows for less steps the scratching is my doing, it will require a post cure cook too fully harden it

@fuzziphy looking for how much those machines cost... well, I am more than happy from my setup... might get back to milling, but I would first need to make a tool changer for my 3018...

@Halina20011 I would say it’s faster than etching with the setups and less hands on, since my machine has a 6 tool auto tool changer

My pair of AsRock AMD BC-250 boards just showed up from eBay. These things are stripped down/binned PS5 APUs that run Linux. 16GB of unified 448GB/sec GDDR6 per board, 6 Zen 2 cores, 24 RDNA 2 CUs, apparently unlockable to 40 CUs in the silicon lottery. I plan on making a power distribution board using the two B2B Molex power connectors they have on them, and mill some kind of enclosure on the Shapeoko. I’m curious about using DisplayPort to stream 4x 8Gbps lanes that GPU shaders could pack into texture buffers and a quad to the Ultrascale+ FPGA

@Halina20011 3?? My original plan was use those ports as data bus to make a multi chip system, but ends up practicing some basic circuits on it🙂‍↕️

@notagoodiea @Redstone_Bi that board is a controller for crypto mining now that they are old, so you can find it cheap second-hand for like less then 20$ which for that fpga is sooo good

Got Debian stable + kernel 7.0.10 backport, and llama.cpp installed on this BC-250. It's successfully loaded a model (Vulkan backend, as ROCm afaik doesn't work on this APU)

This thing showed up from eBay.. A decommissioned FPGA from alibaba. They have a Xilinx Ultrascale+ XCKU3P in them that the chip alone sells for $3k on DigiKey. 356k logic cells, 26Mbit block ram, 16x32.75Gbps transceivers, and 1368 DSPs. They have an x8 PCIe connector, two SFP+ cages, and a clearly marked JTAG header. And as @lauriewired pointed out, they are supported by the free version of Vivado
