So I experienced the new combat rules change yesterday and this may sound like a stupid question but should I just like, not use combat tricks when double blocking anymore? I just can’t wrap my brain around this change.

@SaffronOlive Yeah without trample this isn’t going into my mono-green commander. Love the card though and the Kat art is fantastic 😂

No trample means this is probably unplayable in 60 card formats, although I can see an argument for being a weird green wrath in Commander (although it's still probably better to just Overrun or Hoof and win).

@jeg_peg Play with fire is the better card, except for the "show what this color does" part. Bolt would be nice, but I think that the power level of 3 damage for 1 mana at instant speed is not where a set like Foundations to be. It should set some sort of lowest level for other cards.

@Halken Yeah, I prefer Play With Fire but Shock feels like a far more likely candidate and can save a slot in future proper setd

We already know that Llanowar Elves and Day of Judgment are returning to Standard in Foundations. Let's say Wizards wants an iconic reprint from each color, assuming green and white are covered, what do you want for red, blue and black?

@jeg_peg @SaffronOlive Honestly, Shock and Duress belongs in a foundational set. They're not super good at their job but they do the iconic thing without being an auto include for everyone.

@zer0life @SaffronOlive I would apply the cheese rule. We dont reprint it in another type when it works for actual magic, we do a functional reprint.

@SaffronOlive I will stand guard on the bastions for as long as I draw breath: No digital/Alchemy cards should be printed. It opens the gateway to the 'experimental' cards or the notion of "We can errata cards to tweak them."

This is actually a super interesting card design which seems like it could easily be printed in paper.

@JagvarGames Doing an "offline" system for base management where all players can do things between game nights, with a mission every time you actually meet but the team might be different depending on who shows up. Everyone is still in the campaign but there's a built in "life happens".

@JagvarGames Being a little generous with the premise, since 1 movie that spun of to TV, but Stargate has a bunch of possibilities to explore. A team that gets a single planet mission, explore and return, plot of the week. Later parts has space dogfighting. Atlantis could be base building.

You've decided to write a new game based on a sci-fi movie franchise. Which one are you picking?

@golgariguy Would it combo weirdly with Blood Moon et al? Feels like a setup phase, then making all your nonbasics mountains and popping off could be a thing. OTOH, muck and Urborg should have a similar effect with less downside and hasn't gone mad.

@matthiasellis I mean, reading what your child is reading seems good, like trying out your kids games and so on. Just being Peter Pan and refusing to grow up is bad. But then again, going from not reading to reading "the greats" is a jump and some people just need an on-ramp without shame.

@Mello_Proto @DoomBlazer23 @WongUpdates Since a lot of it's flaws was in weird pacing and a lot of ADR, it's possible that it wasn't given the chance for reshoots because that would delay release too much. Not so much "bad on purpose" but "wasn't allowed to fix things in post"

@shadowlaura_ @DoomBlazer23 @WongUpdates There was a conspiracy theory that Sony needed no more than 24 months between movies. Something like that. Morbius came out 4/1/2022, so according to this they'd need a movie before 4/1/2024 to satisfy some sort of contract. Complete conspiracy but funny to think about.
