I agree with Piers!!!! What is happening to me?? He made what now seem to be dreadful tactical errors after the 🏴 goal. But a similar approach had worked before so it was not unreasonable to think it might work again. His problem was that 🇦🇷 is not 🇳🇴 or 🇲🇽 And where I disagree with Piers - Messi is the GOAT (apart from Ashley Barnes) anyway cut Tuchel some slack I say

Against Egypt VAR combed every second till they found a foul to disallow Egypt’s goal. Here, VAR ignored Messi stomping on Spence’s foot. Egypt’s foul occurred so far from Argentina’s goal unlike Messi’s which is in England’s box.

I think this is the main reason why everyone is so frustrated with the rules of the game. This is a FOUL. Spence beat Messi to the ball and Messi stomps on his foot. FOUL. The play goes on and they end up scoring the winner. No VAR intervention, no mention of it. Goal stands.
