As good as a Game 1 as you could hope for. #mnwild emphatically steal a game in Dallas. Yes the goals were good, but my big takeaways from today were the Wild’s neutral zone play. They clogged that up and eliminated the Dallas rush attack. PK I thought overall was solid. Discipline, despite 4-5 penalties was good. Lots of soft calls. Wallstedt showed why Wild went to him. All the big guns stepped up and Contributed on offense. Role players like Trenin, Spurgeon, Middleton etc did exactly what they’re here to do. Just a textbook game start to finish.

I think Nick Foligno needs to be in the lineup. Built for playoff hockey. Smart, physical, poised, responsible and can win draws and play PK. I think it’s down to Brink & Yurov for the final spot, Yurov with the edge based on face offs and ability to be 3rd PK rotation.

Well for starters Marcus Johansson and I have same amount of NHL goals scored since January 16th. Tough to make an argument based on the beginning of the season when he’s an older player who similarly disappeared during the back half of last season too. He’s a good skater and defender, nothing wrong with throwing a guy like that on your third line and giving someone else like Vlad or Brink (once healthy) in that spot.

The #mnwild are in a three-game slump but @jessi_pierce and @KirstenKrull aren't hitting the panic button -- they just think the Wild need to make some changes to the top 6 +@DallasStars or @Avalanche -- who would you rather see in rd1? youtu.be/3m4Hxb84MZA

I like that Geurin doesn’t want to overpay for him but with how Dallas and Colorado are stacking up I think he needs to offer Stramel, Jiricek, the 2028 1st, and maybe a bit more to get Trocheck. Especially now that we’ve got 4 RD Jiricek seems locked out this season.

Still can’t fathom how people think this isn’t a penalty. MacKinnon lifts Mikkola’s stick to knee height. Mikkola loses control of his stick and thwacks MacKinnon in the face. Easy 2 mins. Maybe don’t sit on a lead and get more than 9 shots in the final 40 mins? 🤷‍♂️
