Both in Sevastopol and in the rest of the peninsula, they voted for inclusion in Ukraine. DeStalinization didn’t stop Soviet oppression btw.

(Most ppl that lived during that time prefer the ussr over what they have now btw)

A typical French, Israeli, American, or British person would understand Ukrainians far more easily than a Russian. Proximity to the border doesn’t matter — this border isn’t just a line dividing territories; it’s a bottomless abyss, shaped by centuries of different histories, cultures, and customs. You won’t find two states as fundamentally different as Ukraine and Russia.
