Hamilton Encampment Support Network (HESN) is a volunteer-run advocacy network supporting the growing community of houseless and unhoused Hamiltonians

Today, I launched an election campaign with members of the newly formed Ontario Coalition for the Rights of Homeless People (OCRHP). We demand that the next provincial government: 1. Commit to building the housing that Ontarians both need and that is their fundamental right. 2. Reject the removal of homeless people's Charter-protected rights by abusing the Notwithstanding Clause. 3. Have a concrete and compassionate plan to address homelessness. homelessrights.ca/get-involved

From unbelievably low Social Assistance Rates to the failures of the AODA to inaccessible, unaffordable housing, the Ontario Government has not served Disabled Ontarians for thirty years. And now, they’re making it worse. endausterity.ca

Cllr Danko is attempting to cancel funding to the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic (HCLC). His Feb 12th motion is clearly vindictive. Feb 12: Council votes on budget motions. Feb 26: City staff report March 5: Council to ratify motion to end encampment protocol. March 6: Encampment protocol officially rescinded. 25/25

The agenda for today's City Council meeting was updated at the last minute yet again. In addition to previous motions, a new motion from Clir. Danko calls to cut funding for the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic specifically. 24/25
