From being told "IMGs cannot make it to surgery" to "fully matched to general surgery residency " has only one meaning for me: Never Give Up 💪 I owe it all to the amazing mentor @TopKniFe_B & the supportive family @AZTraumaCats who made it possible The journey just began! 🌟

Proud to represent @WMCGenSurg at #ISET2026 in Miami! Presented our 20-year experience with IMA stenting as single-vessel treatment for chronic mesenteric ischemia—100% technical success with durable symptom relief. The IMA deserves more attention in CMI management.

@georgoff It’s cool, fun, but not there yet. My humble opinion as a resident: The current content of BTK is purposeful, and it efficiently conveys the message that other platforms couldn’t make it happen. These videos don’t meet those criteria.

Anyone have thoughts on this? It's impressive, but some of the illustrations (especially anatomy) are not quite there and there is too much audio filler/fluff that we can't seem to get rid of. Should we wait? Or are these worth sharing now? I added an esophagus video for review below.

Having some fun with AI @NotebookLM. What do you think of these videos for #ABSITE review? Useful? Or not quite there yet? Let us know!

Surgical branches are often picked less frequently by top rankers not because they lack prestige, but because they demand a different kind of commitment—longer hours, physical stamina, steep learning curves, and years of hands-on mastery. Many top rankers choose quicker, lifestyle-friendly specialities, but surgery remains the domain of those who are driven by passion more than convenience. It attracts people who want to stand in the OT, make decisions in real time, and change a patient’s life with their own hands. In the end, surgery is chosen by those who value impact over comfort, and that makes it one of the most passionate, purpose-driven fields in medicine. #obgyn #MedTwitter

@drkeithsiau @FrontGastro_BMJ Great read, May I know what’s your thoughts on the best approach after 2nd failure of endoscopic approach? The algorithm suggests TAE (and most references), but any concern about possible high failure rates?

As a resident, my colleagues and I are very appreciative of the content you produce. The reason that I personally don’t use the app and rather using Apple podcasts is that when I pause in the middle of an episode and I’m planning to listen to the rest while on the way back home, that episode will restart instead of playing where I left off. Not sure if it happens for others as well.

Roasting @acsTrauma TQIP might be cute for @X But Dismissing it online creates a false narrative that undermines its value in our journals, meetings, and daily practice. TQIP isn’t perfect but it’s the only national tool that’s demonstrably improved trauma outcomes. Without it, we’d still be stuck arguing anecdotes. Over 900 centers contribute real world data that RCTs can’t always capture diverse populations, long-term outcomes, system-level insights and RCT implementation and practice change. For a deeper dive, see @jdimick1’s work on the importance of large databases. The future isn’t RCT vs. TQIP it’s integrating both for smarter trauma care. It’s not about sides, it’s about combining strengths to move the field forward.

#Prehospital resuscitation with low-titer group O whole blood (LTOWB) shows promise in trauma care, offering faster intervention, improved outcomes, and reduced mortality. Its logistical advantages and impact on shock reversal highlight the need for broader adoption. #whole_blood journals.lww.com/jtrauma/abstra…
