Irony; those who bought flats in Avenfield & Dubai through money laundering are secure whilst those who bought flats in one const avenue through hard earned money after SC regularised it are in jeopardy. No wonder in last 4 years we have received lowest investment in last 50 year

مُشتری ہوشیار باش ہو چُکا تھا۔

I co-own an apartment in One Const avenue. Purchased it after I left govt & urgently needed a place to stay in Isb. Tax declared & with complete income trail AH. Bought from a previous owner & resident. - I demand a committee be formed on Katchi Abaadis demolition too - I also demand that Pak govt ask UAE & UK to seize and return all properties purchased by Pak nationals & not declared in their tax returns. - I demand to see money trail of purchase of avenfield apartments in London.

بہت سارے طاقتور مالکان اس عمارت میں وہ ہیں جن کو oblige کیا گیا یعنی معمولی نرخوں پر فیلٹس دیئے گئے تاکہ غیرقانونی عمارت کو جب گِرانے کا وقت آئے تو یہ اِسے بچانے میں سہولتکاری کریں۔
باقی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے جانتے بوجھتے کہ عمارت غیرقانونی ہے اِس میں فلیٹس خریدے کیونکہ سستے ملے۔

One Constitution Avenue; Doors broken, residents thrown out at night & without notice. A sight all too common in Form 47 Pakistan. Owners that bought flats in the building suffering for no fault of their own. Judicial indifference towards them is shameful. Terrible precedence.

Last night at 1 Const Avenue, there were two types of people: those worried about sneaking alcohol and drugs past the police downstairs, and those trying to avoid being seen because their families don’t know they own a flat there. It was a crazy night.

@FarrukhJAbbasi It was regularised by SC by the time I bought it. But now ive learnt that even that means nothing anymore in Pakistan.

My question to you is, why would someone in politics invest in something that is so controversial? Did you get a very steep discount on this property? You have already priced in the risk?

Pakistan is suffocating under authoritarianism. Forget investment, it’s becoming difficult for any citizen to go by his day without running foul of some govt department hounding him or her. Arrogance & fascism has spread everywhere. The govt has become a monster.

🚨🚨🚨Wheat being forcefully stopped on roads and taken to Govt godowns AGAINST THEIR WILL where it is unfairly being deducted/cut-back. Food deptt DFCs personally have set up check points on highways including the M2. They say they have instructions to complete the companies’ quotas whatever method is required. Disgraceful CRIMINAL behaviour. Is this a free market?? You either procure it, or let us sell it wherever we want. What policy nightmare is this?

While all the ruckus and general feeling is about 'elites' getting 'treatment', I am not sure people comprehend the overall repercussions of forced evictions, whether its 1-Constitution or Bari Imam. It simply means that there is no law in this country but only the law 1/2

State’s overreach destroyed Pakistan Steel Mill’s privatisation, delayed & costed Riko Diqq’s copper mine project & scared away countless other investors. Every-time the same sadists cheered it at as resistance against rich or labelled it as a scam. Each time Pakistan lost out.

Its not an either/or equation. Both operations are draconian & better solutions can easily be found.
CDA wants not just its land back but the multi billion building free of cost. In the end they will ruin anything they touch. How hard is it to protect the building, protect the flat owners & residents & settle the dispute professionally & humanely?

Once again, the government and CDA have demonstrated sheer high-handedness. Police and other forces have stormed into One Constitution Avenue in the middle of the night, shouting at residents to vacate their homes by morning. Who operates like this, especially in the heart of the capital?
What image are you projecting of Pakistan? What kind of law and order is this?
This is not an isolated incident. The CDA and Interior Ministry have carried out similar actions in Islamabad’s villages, displacing thousands who had lived there for decades.
This is governance marked by recklessness, insensitivity, and a complete disregard for citizens’ dignity.
