@MakichyanA Greater Armenia (promised by god 3000 years ago), Make Armenia Great Again, or Armenian Empire? Which slogan do you prefer mr right wing nationalist?

Until today, the rights of Indigenous Armenians have not been restored in Western Armenia (eastern Turkey), where the genocide took place. The genocide continues to this day. This has nothing to do with Armenian “nationalism”; it is a indigenous rights issue.
History Speaks@History__Speaks

Deleting this was a complete disgrace, @JDVance. The Armenian Genocide is not only indisputably real, but one of the most extreme cases of genocide in human history. Turkey is an important country. They do need to learn to be rational about this. It doesn't 'discredit Turkey,' whatever some Armenian nationalists might insist. Nobody alive today is responsible for the Genocide. And yet, it clearly happened. The US Government now recognizes the genocide as well.

@MakichyanA @3lfares Using Arshak’s logic, Palestinians are Arab colonisers because they speak Arabic & are majority Muslim&Christian today. They have forced a ‘colonial identity’ over the indigenous Israelites. We have to save them b/c apparently language/religous shift = ethnic replacement now🤡

@3lfares you don’t understand. Armenians or Greeks were not a minority, but indigenous (read the definition). But once again, I am not going to argue

@MakichyanA @3lfares These so-called “Greeks”/“Armenians” became “Muslim”/“Turkish-speaking” the same way they became “Christian” & Armenian-or Greek-speaking: through gradual processes of elite dominance, religious conversion, linguistic shift, intermarriage, and social integration over centuries.

@MakichyanA @3lfares „“Greeks” of Asia Minor before the arrival of the Seljuks/Ottomans were Hellenised Hittites, Phrygians, Lydians, Carians, Lycians and other Anatolian peoples; “Armenians” were Armenianised Hurrians and Urartians.

@Kain_Deacon @ragipsoylu Turkish people are genetically largely from Anatolia and it surroundings. Simply because they speak a language that originates from Central Asia does not mean that they also descent from that region. Look at Turkish DNA and you will see the evidence for this.

@ragipsoylu That has nothing to do with Turkish history. As you obviously came to Anatolia roughly half a millennia ago.

A first in history: During the excavations carried out in Turkey’s 12.000 -year-old Karahantepe, a T-shaped obelisk depicting a human face was uncovered for the first time. For the context, pyramids are 4700-year-old, Stonehenge is 5000-year-old

The greatest threat to #Syria’s socio-political transition are #subversion campaigns trying to sow discord, polarize and mobilize the public via weaponized narratives 🧵A thread on the external information warriors wanting to see #HTS fail in building a national consensus 1/

I get it, I don’t expect you to change your mind over night. Just know that you don’t have to lie to yourself to defend the indefensible. I know Lebanon, I know nasrallah was under civilian apartments. You are just lying to yourself if you attempt to dismiss the danger Hamas and Hezbollah puts civilians in, and you are not helping us.

While I appreciate the intentions of Dr. Feroze Sidhwa (@FerozeSidhwa) in highlighting the immense suffering in Gaza through the @nytopinion piece he shared, he serves nobody, not least the Palestinian people in Gaza, by minimizing and ignoring Hamas's indisputable criminality in how it is behaving towards its own people. These statements are not only inaccurate, by they are dangerous and harmful to the Palestinian cause and for getting the world to understand the plight of Gazans stuck between Hamas and the IDF's war. Sidhwa is absolutely wrong, inaccurate, and misinformed about Hamas, their methods, intentions, and deadly/nefarious mode of operation in the Gaza Strip. The terror group steals aid, shoots at people trying to get aid, uses civilian areas and infrastructure to attack Israeli targets, absolutely counts on massive casualties as a strategy to delegitimize Israel as Sinwar and other leaders repeatedly admit, not to mention its torturing and killing of opponents and those suspected of transgressions "against the resistance." Hamas is mortal and existential threat to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
