This is the part that keeps getting buried under the raw numbers. Hegseth spent months pressuring Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to remove four decorated colonels from the one-star promotion list. إن إقرار "الجيش الإسرائيلي" بأن نزع سلاح حزب الله في ظل الظروف الحالية هو أمر غير ممكن، وانه ولم يعد هدف الحرب، هو تراجع جوهري نوعي، فرضته جهوزية حزب الله للحرب، وهذا نتاج الفعل الميداني. لكن الأهم، الاشارة إلى أن "المطلوب هو ابعاد الحزب عن الحدود بعمق حوالي 4 كلم"، فهو تراجع أيضا، عن إبعاده إلى ما بعد الليطاني. أما محاولة ترسيخ منطقة عازلة، خالية من السكان، ومنع عودتهم، فهي التحدي الكبير الذي سيواجه في لبنان حتما، لأن عنوان فتح الجبهة واستباق الهجمة الإسرائيلية هو ضرورة انسحاب "إسرائيل" وعودة الأهالي إلى قراهم.
