A local meat market had Tri Tip available recently. It’s hard to find here so I bought a full package. It had 6 prime Tri Tips in it! The rest are in the freezer for another time. Holy Cow seasoning. Turned out delicious!

@FarmerTheta I read somewhere this morning that it would be a “beans only” payment of $100/acre. But that was speculation. I also read that any sales China puts on during the shutdown wouldn’t be reported to USDA. Which is pretty smart if China did that.

@HankB67 @ChetEdinger @snodgrss Dry, warm, hot. I disked corn stalks in January of 12. By this time in March of that year the grass was really growing and we had been in 80s. I also say 12 was a Sunday school picnic compared to 02 and 06.

We are over 1/2 done planting Spring Wheat tonight. I don’t ever remember a spring that was this dry to start. According to my favorite weatherman @snodgrss it doesn’t look good for us on getting any decent rains soon either. We will plant & hope for the best. #farming

@Ronnie468191991 @sdfeeder Basically the bottom of the sirloin, or sometimes called sirloin roast. Usually about 4 lbs. I coat with fresh ground pepper and Kosher salt 2:1 ratio. Grill or smoke at 200 until 135°, then take grill to 500 and sear both sides for 5 minutes. Different, but very good flavor

What’s it worth to a farmer to let me bale corn stalks? His stalks. I do all the work. Was going to pay him so much a bale. Fertility isn’t a problem, probably has a phosphorus problem from too much manure. Just want to be fair to both of us. I said $10/ bale.He’s skeptical
