@txgrainfarmer Well it’s not uncommon here to have 2 planters whether you farm 1000 or 3000 We get what seems as some pretty tight windows to run in

I understand and respect that. My counter point is that the cost of production has risen, along with actual production & we are overproducing grains. All of them. The government is stepping in & handing out taxpayer dollars to fill the hole. Instead of handing out money, slowly increase the mandate so the money is generated from the market. Ethanol is cheaper than gas so consumers come out better at the pump & tax dollars go somewhere else.

Well, I wasn’t expecting that kind of casualty from the wind. We had a black bear get in this bag and make a few holes, we semi-patched them but apparently not quite well enough. Wind got in and finished the job. 🤦🏻‍♂️

High winds & low humidity has elevated the fire risk today. We pulled a water wagon to each field we are planting in. This would be a first for us during spring planting.

@GrainStats @ASA_Soybeans I’ve always maintained that the mandated levels need to be slowly increased. Liquid fuel demand is flat, but our corn & soybean production keeps increasing.

@ChetEdinger @ASA_Soybeans oh it’s so stupid and childish if you ask me i would rather have a minimum mandate at this point (which we have) and liberalize the blends, which is what we would have if this bill would pass

@GrainStats @ASA_Soybeans My issue is we can’t be fighting over this as an industry. I understand the “what-ifs” but we deal with that everyday.

it’s simple the way the RFS is structured is that the biodiesel/renewable diesel guys “steal” RINs from the Ethanol pool because they can’t blend above E10 in a meaningful way. E15 doesn’t stop that from happening. But it does pose a threat to that industry as a whole and forces them to ask for more mandated volumes if E15 corrects itself and takes back those RINs It’s Farmers+BigAg vs BigAg+BigOil right now. i don’t have a knife in this fight of course, i just see what it for what it is

Got a shitty wheat crop? Well it’s giving us a chance to sell 2027 crop. Farmers are always long.

@ChetEdinger *We don’t get rain from about June 10th-Sept 20th. And yeah I do know we get more than the Dakotas, Kansas and Texas. I just never seems like it. We need 1.5” a week to keep crops from rolling up on the sand. And not all at once because it can’t hold it.

@wapp56 @AaronBobeck @Case_IH My latest theory. Anything manufactured 1-2 years after Covid is suspect. Especially anything with lots of electronics. I’ve got no proof of this theory but it makes sense to me.

@AaronBobeck @Case_IH We had them for 4-5 years. For some reason went with the cheaper option of new tractors when those were at 5000 hours. Big mistake.

2 out of 4 AFS Connect Magnums are down. 1 all week. A 3rd multiple times for hours. We are now hauling 1 in that needs split for the second time since buying new in 2022. Taking parts from it to try to get other running. This has been our @Case_IH story since day one.
