@MariaG_Zaccaro @FarehamWoodward A somewhat reductive vision of a library from the councillor in charge of Hampshire's libraries. Libraries are so much more than book-lending machines. And lending figures are an unfair proxy - given that previous cuts have had an impact. If you starve an organism, it shrinks.

@FarehamWoodward said changes will have to be made in the library service. He said there has been a 25% reduction "in the core business of library which is lending books". He also acknowledged there have been cuts to local authorities in the past 10 years
