Anas Altikriti expressed disapproval for integration at the Muslim Association of Canada's 2026 convention. "I hate the word integrate. It's a tool to beat the Muslim community with. We don't need to integrate," he said. Altikriti's father allegedly led the Iraqi branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Altikriti himself has led other organizations with alleged extremist organizations including the Muslim Association of Britain and the Cordoba Foundation, both of which are designated terrorist organizations in the UAE. Altikriti appeared via Zoom following a ban on entering Canada prior to the convention.

Do the moderate Muslims understand that this does not do them any good ? If so, why don't they speak up ?

Leaked photos show a third mandatory acknowledgment at the City of Toronto - this one called the “drug toxicity crisis” acknowledgment which is to be recited at meetings alongside the Land and African acknowledgments.
