It doesn’t work that way.

If somebody is not meeting their performance standards, good leader gives them feedback. They let them know what they need to change. If they will not or cannot change, after an ample period of support and documentation, then they let them go.

Warren Buffet once said, “In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if they don’t have the first one, the other two will kill you.” And he is spot-on!
