@tedfrank @mike_frags Argentina entered into a $5 billion settlement re claims arising from the YPF nationalization, approved by Argentina’s National Court of Appraisals pursuant to Argentina’s General Expropriation Law. Standard stuff. Fragoso slandering COA2 as “socialist” because he’s a sore loser

The spirit of Mamdani has taken over NY’s federal appellate court. In a recent decision, a divided panel of the Second Circuit managed both to throw a lifeline to Argentinian socialists and to cast doubt on the reliability of the NYSE. 1/2

@mike_frags I would also encourage you to be forthright in your tweets about your role in the case. The article acknowledges that you represent Petersen Energia Inversora in the dispute, but most people reading the tweet won’t click the link.

@mike_frags Enjoy your takes so reading this article was disappointing. Under Argentine law, corporate bylaws generally function as governance rules rather than bilateral contracts creating enforceable obligations between shareholders. Rule of law is good for capital markets, actually.

@oren_cass Families own individual condo units. Why not ban BTR apartments, encouraging construction of buildings w/ “built-to-sell” units (condo buildings)?

7/ I'm also perplexed by people asking "why are BTR apartment buildings OK but BTR houses not?" Um, because your typical family can't buy an apartment building, never has bought an apartment building, doesn't want to. Nor are they built in the same places.

1/ Folks, Build-to-Rent isn't some indispensable source of supply in a healthy housing market. It's mostly a recent phenomenon, driven by arbitrage opportunities, and leading toward a bad equilibrium. 🧵
