I found out my friend Elizabeth died from ALS today. She was a badass who rode a Harley to the end, funny and adventurous. She's gone way too young and I'm going to miss her sarcasm the most.

I was born to a 16 year old & raised by grandparents with 4th & 8th grade educations. They picked cotton, cleaned houses, and paved roads. Dreaming “practically” would not have allowed me to be the DNC Chair, to run for the US Senate, to become a lawyer, to travel abroad and so much more. We cannot limit our children. I want my boys to dream as big as they can. I want all kids to not allow their current situation to limit their future situations. You may have been born into poverty but your hopes, dreams and aspirations don’t have to be impoverished- not in this country! Let’s not bind the wings of our kids- let them soar if that is what they dream of doing.
