No they’re not. Nobody at Newcastle has heard anything about this, so there are no talks let alone advanced ones. Does that mean there is no truth in Manchester United’s interest? Well that’s a different question but as things stand there is nothing going on. It’s March and I think a #nufc player has been linked with another club every week since December.

Idc what everybody says but in all honesty, Manchester United probably overpaid for Leny Yoro based on the current CB market. Yes, he’s young and extremely talented — the pace, composure on the ball, and front-foot defending are clear. But at that fee, you expect immediate authority in the back line, not just long-term potential. Right now he still needs to improve defensive positioning, duel timing, and physical control against Premier League strikers in the Premier League. The ceiling is huge, but at United “he’s young” can’t be the excuse forever, eventually the price tag demands performances to match.
