@SheenaNimmo Braid Estate? Never heard that area called an estate. As for the road changes round there, why is so much being spent there over less affluent areas in the city with a greater need??

Vans on the pavement blocking the new crossing at the Hermitage in the Braid Estate. Driver asked to move them to one of the nearby parking spaces - spaces which the council are about to remove in order to spend £400k installing cycle lanes to replace the nearby Quiet Route.

Today marks 2 months since we started enforcement of the pavement parking ban in Edinburgh. What was thought to be impossible has become normal, and we created a fairer city along the way. Many thanks to the Council for their implementation, and to communities across Edinburgh for making it happen. I am so proud of what's been achieved by everyone. Fine levels are higher than I would like, but I am sure they will reduce. Fines issued 29th January to 26th March 2024: ▶️ Parked on pavement = 1,045 ▶️ Parked adjacent to a dropped kerb at a known crossing point = 199 ▶️ Double parking = 286

This is what we want in Edinburgh please. Active travel on London is a real thing… two way cycle lane takes up half the roadway previously only used for vehicles

@FinlayMcF @CyclingEdin @SpokesLothian Not sure who thought the cycle route on Glengyle Terrace, but it's a death trap just waiting to happen. Almost too narrow and wobbly cyclists/drivers in danger. Almost like the designer had never seen the street!!

Looks like some imminent 🚲 improvements around the Kings Theatre.. Cycle contraflow to be introduced on Leven Terrace, Valleyfield Street and Glengyle Terrace to help reduce the impact of the construction works 👍 @CyclingEdin @SpokesLothian

@CllrScottArthur How about learning from the current tram fiasco and leaving the idea in a box. We have a public Transport system that appears to work even with some of the idiotic road narrowing. Oh, and the council is broke in case you hadn't noticed

Back to the future - on Friday we will publish plans for consultation on a tramline which links: Granton ➡️ Edinburgh College ➡️ The Western General ➡️ Craigleith Retail Park ➡️ City Centre ➡️ Edinburgh University ➡️ Cameron Toll ➡️ The Royal Infirmary ➡️ The Bioquarter ➡️ And beyond! This line makes so much sense that I really believe it should have been Edinburgh's first!
