When Kevin Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Anthony Rapp, he announced that he was gay. He was hugely criticised for seemingly using his sexuality to try and distract from the accusations. This police officer, who spoke “a lot about the powers he had” in the Met as a special constable, acted male in 2018, acted male in the five years of their “on-off relationship”, and acted male during most of the trial. It was only during the sentencing that they transitioned. Most trans people spend ages transitioning. Most doctors recommend living in their affirmed gender for at least three months to over a year before starting hormone therapy - to ensure confidence in their decision. That’s self identification, and that’s not what appears to have happened here. I don’t think most people realise that - why would they? This person may be transgender and a danger to women, but they are not a danger to women *because* they are trans. “The key point is that you are a very significant risk to women,” Judge Cooper said. “This is not predicated on your trans status, but on your criminal status.” I feel sorry for the victims, for women, for the trans community that has to put up with this, and for anyone who feels unsafe when they may have only seen the headline.

Turns out Dr Khan is a complete tit, as Piers Morgan kindly points out on Lorraine. "I identify as male" what a twat. Not having men in women's toilets will endanger women sasy the good doctor. Right, you incomprehensible moron. But why is this conversation still taking place? Because the govt refuse to end the lie that is trans. Is that why?

Danny Kruger@danny__kruger

Nick Timothy and Nigel Farage are right, and Sadiq Khan and Keir Starmer are wrong. Small groups of people, of whatever religion, praying in public places is fine. And as a Christian country we should allow a special privilege for churches to lead services in our national spaces, like the Palm Sunday celebration that happens in Trafalgar Square. What we don't want is mass ritual observances intended to claim the civic realm for another religion, or assert the domination of another culture over our own Christian traditions. What happens in our national spaces is not neutral. People use Trafalgar Square, for celebrations and demonstrations, to make a point about the kind of country they want us to be. The Palm Sunday pageant reminds us of who we are - not as individuals (many or most of us don't identify as Christians at all) but as a national community, with the roots of our institutions in the ground of the Bible and our most solemn communal moments, from coronations to funerals, mediated through the liturgies of the Church. A mass Adhan held there, or in any town square, is making a different point: that Britain is not a Christian country, and that - inshallah - one day it shall be Muslim. This is unacceptable to the British public and indeed incompatible with our constitution. As ever with these debates, the issue is partly one of kind and partly one of degree. There is an issue with Islam itself as a religion which in most interpretations does not admit of pluralism or freedom of conscience, and therefore is inherently aggrandising, including over territory. But with a bit of confidence and a bit of toleration we could handle that - if it were not for the issue of degree. It is the scale of Islam in Britain, and the ambition of its leaders for greater scale, that makes the problem. The numbers of people who assembled for the adhan in Trafalgar Square, clearly and openly claiming the territory for a faith with no connection (indeed, with strong doctrinal disagreement) with the model of Western liberal democracy that Britain has developed and exported to the world - that is the problem. The numbers, whether everyone there understood it this way or not (and I suspect many did), convey an explicit threat to the foundations of our country. Being relaxed about other people's religion is a good thing, a very British thing. I don't mind modern druids dancing around Stonehenge in my constituency (arguably, though the historicity is tenuous, they have a claim to the place). I don't mind small groups of Hindus or Buddhists or Muslims demonstrating the reality of Britain's religious toleration by worshiping in Trafalgar Square. But let's not kid ourselves about this adhan, or pretend that we're just seeing another harmless expression of Britain's religious diversity. We are seeing an abuse of liberalism, led by people who are not themselves liberal; or - let us imagine they are acting in good faith - who are themselves deceived about what they are doing. It should not happen again. And it would be good to hear the Church of England say so.

Author and DJ Zakia Sewell is using British folk culture to challenge far-right nationalism. Sewell has journeyed around the British Isles exploring Britain’s folk resurgence for her debut book, Finding Albion: Myth, Folklore and the Quest for a Hidden Britain. Finding Albion builds on Sewell’s hit audio series for BBC Radio 4, which saw her seek out a different, more inclusive idea of “Britishness” beyond the usual national myths and symbols. No law requires sports courses or clubs to ban trans people. Yet instead of allowing this inclusive event to go ahead, anti-trans campaigners pushed to have it cancelled, denying opportunities to all women and girls.

10,000 violent crimes against women per month. 10,000. TEN THOUSAND! By ANYONE'S standards this is a national disgrace. ANYONE failing in their duty to keep UK citizens safe need arresting. This is a national emergency of it's own. Feminists. Women's rights champions??!!
Women’s Safety Initiative@WomenSafety_UK

London is no longer safe for women. In 2024, more than 123,000 violent crimes against women and girls were reported to the Met. Arrests and charges for rape and serious sexual offences more than doubled.

The settlers didn't become Maori, though. They colonised the land, created a colony (and later a state), and eventually allowed the previous population to participate in this society. This is not the same as Britain, an island with a continuous ethnic and cultural core for over a millennium.

This thread is amusing because KJK, one of the world’s most prominent gender critical activists, adopts TRA arguments to argue for a trans‑British identity. To start, asserting that an African man is British is analogous to the slogan 'Trans women are women.' Then, when challenged, she concedes that he isn’t ethnically British, thus creating two distinct categories; one biological and one cultural. This mirrors the sex vs. gender distinction by TRA advocates. Finally, she argues that if he has lived here for generations [sic] and holds a British passport, then he is British. That’s equivalent to saying that if a trans woman has lived as a woman for years and holds a gender recognition certificate, then she is a woman. However, the interesting story is that some prominent TERFs have clearly pivoted toward neo‑con counter‑jihadism over the past few months. I'm curious to see whether this shift coincides with (hypocritical) arguments for civic nationalism and whether it will result in attacks against Restore.

@CompositeGuy_ @HarryDecote It's again become a "motte & bailey trojan horse" to steal Pincourt's term. The state tries to claim that we're full of Frank Bruno British, but the reality is that this is a postmodern fiction as the country is now full of openly hostile Muslims. The polite fiction is imploding.
