Unpopular opinion for Capetonians complaining about Southern Suburbs and CBD rental prices: If you can’t afford to live there, then don’t live there. No one’s entitled to a specific neighbourhood at a price that suits them. I can’t afford to live in Higgovale, so I don’t. That’s not apartheid, racism, or exclusion. It’s supply and demand. Desirable areas with limited space cost more. That’s how markets work everywhere. So what’s the alternative people are actually asking for? Government controlling rent and property prices? Telling people they’re not allowed to buy or rent because they earn too much? Punishing people for being willing and able to pay more? Those policies don’t make housing cheaper. They reduce supply, scare off investment, and make shortages worse. There will always be places you can’t afford to live. That’s just reality, not a moral injustice. You’re not owed everything you want, where you want it, at the price you prefer. Trade-offs are part of adulthood, and trying to legislate them away just leaves everyone poorer in the end.

I've been advocating against Binance for years. Glad to see the timeline finally waking up and calling out how cancerous Binance and other shady CEXs are for this space. As an industry insider, I know endless first-hand stories - from founders, market makers, KOLs, and retail users - of how they've been extracted by Binance. It's genuinely sad knowing how many great founders have been destroyed by their games. They leverage their absolute market power to squeeze every last cent out of you. I don't even want to imagine where this industry could be without the value extraction of Binance, Bybit, Kucoin etc. Founders ruined, market makers burnt, investors losing it all. While CEXs pocket everything. A massive negative sum game. The worst part? The short-sightedness. Greed is natural, but why would you extract so aggressively that you destroy the entire space and erode all trust irreversibly? Eventually there's nothing left to extract and it's game over. If we want this industry to succeed and bring back the golden times for altcoins: Avoid CEXs at all costs. It's the only way to turn crypto into a positive sum game again and make the pie grow.
