I’ve genuinely tried to understand in what world Elliott Anderson is viewed as a DM, and I just don’t see it. Anderson is a CM who naturally likes to push forward into advanced areas, with or without the ball. Without possession, his first instinct isn’t to sit deep, shield the defence, or dictate play from a holding role. His strengths are carrying the ball forward, operating higher up the pitch, and impacting the final third. He’s a very good player, but as a DM? That shouldn’t even be an option. Different role entirely

Some will look at this and think it’s a bad performance, but we see football differently. The raw talent is clearly there he just needs minutes on the pitch. As he gets consistent playing time to build his rhythm, his confidence will grow and the execution will follow.
