All of us should live life fully understanding and digesting and 100% internalising the truth that there is a non-zero probability that we won't see tomorrow. We could die of a heart attack, get hit by a car, have a stroke in our sleep, it's a non-zero probability that today is your last day.
In oncology lingo, I like to put it a different way: live like you're a patient with ALK+ metastatic lung cancer with your disease in remission on lorlatinib. You might live longer than your doctor (10+ year survivors are expected nowadays) or you might die tomorrow.
Death is the final truth of life, it seems silly that most of us live life ignoring something that is 100% guaranteed to happen to all of us. If you accept your mortality as an inevitability, you will live a life with less regrets. When you know there is a non-zero chance of dying today, you will be less likely to live a life that is not true to yourself.
Live life with no regrets.
