Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.

UPDATE: PSC Reaffirms Commitment to Disability Inclusion in the Public Service Public Service Commission has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment to advancing inclusion, equality, and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities within the public sector. Commissioner Harun Hassan said this while representing the PSC Chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri at the official launch of Kenya’s Persons with Disabilities National Policy at the Sarova Hotel, Nairobi on 29th July 2025. "Although Kenya is yet to reach the constitutional target, PSC’s own Secretariat has surpassed it with 5.8% representation," said Commissioner Hassan.

During the forum, PSC presented its mandate, strategic plan, and key areas of partnership. Several development partners expressed interest and committed to further engagements with the Commission. The event brought together leading organizations including the Ford Foundation, World Bank, British High Commission, Light for the World, UNICEF, and Isuzu East Africa, among others. 4/5

UPDATE: Public Service Commission Commissioner Harun Hassan has donated his book titled "Behind The wheels: Changing the Disability Narrative" to PSC library. This happened on 19th March 2025 at the Commission House, Nairobi. During the occasion, the Commissioner noted that the book will go a long way in helping the Commission understand the plight of persons living with disability and more so in ensuring equality and diversity in executing the Commission’s mandate.

Newly Appointed Vice Chairperson and PSC Members meet the Secretariat staff. The newly appointment vice chairperson Mrs. Mary Kimonye and 7 members of Public Service Commission held an introductory meeting with the secretariat staff at the Commission House on 3rd February 2025. In the meeting, PSC Chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri called upon the staff to support the new members of the board in execution of the constitutional mandate.

Other members that took oath office include; Harun Maalimu Hassan, Mwanamaka Amani Mabruki, Boya Molu, Dr Irene Cherotich Asienga, Dr Francis Otieno Owino, Joan Andisi Machayo and Francis Meja.
