I almost acquired a SaaS for $5k from a college kid He ruined the deal in 1 sentence Here’s what happened: He posted about the SaaS and I messaged him at 11 PM super excited We jump on the phone, I’m in! I even ask him about how he wants to get paid Then he says “I don’t care about the money, but can you do more? I want to put it on my resume and $5k looks too low.” I start laughing. The deal was dead. Here’s the 3 reasons why: 1. I care about my money. Deeply. I put blood, sweat, and tears to make my millions. If you don’t care, then it makes me sick to give you even a penny 2. When he said he “didn’t care” about getting paid, an alarm went off in my head. If you build something valuable, you want to get paid. I asked my team and it turns out he just cloned another kid’s project on X. It’s like a Freudian slip he felt guilty. 3. Lastly, don’t tell a dropout you’re doing something for your resume. It makes me want to shove you in a locker and reminds me why I dropped out to avoid people like you. Dork. I know this all might sound harsh But I’m posting it to hopefully help some young college hustlers make money. I was you only a few years ago and made every mistake in the book. You can skip a lot of mistakes by referring to @RobertGreene’s 4th Law of Power: Always Say Less Than Necessary because “the more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish”
