Islamist means political Islam. The shah was not for political Islam, he was for spiritual Islam. He believed that a Muslim who has good economic situation, a job, a future for his kids and good health will become a practicing and spiritual Muslim, that he will live Islam according to his spiritual journey since he has his basic human needs met.
Political Islam was according to him a “fabricated distortion of the religion of the prophet (Mohammad)” which in the name of Islam takes power but can’t meet the needs of ordinary Muslim people

@classigantexz From my experiences I got with Lebanese Shias in Germany irl, most pro Hezbollah Lebanese Shias support Hezbollah for sectarian reasons (because they want the Shia community to dominate the other sects in Lebanon) and anti Zionism, not because they want Lebanon to be like Iran.

Pakistan is not a neutral mediator… it is the Sunni version of Shiite Iran. Both operate through the mindset of political Islam, investing in ideology more than stability. Islamabad has produced no real solution. All it has done is buy time for Tehran to maneuver and reorganize its losses.
