@thetrocro I think its because JD is a millionaire VC with billionaire VC benefactors, who is now VP running mate to someone he bad mouthed for years, and is playing identity politics to people whom will be worse off from JD's policies. Philosphy and Yale dont have much too do with it.

I mean, he didn't do his major at Yale. He did it at Ohio State and went to law school at Yale. I taught philosophy at Yale, after growing up ass-poor in Michigan. I don't think I'm some kind of interloper. No I'm not mansplaining poverty, I guess. But I don't know why one is an interloper for thinking about the conditions under which one grew up. Yale is full of people from all over the world thinking about their roots. Weird that there would be a little exception clause where doing that if you're from some particular place or have some particular identity is not allowed or somehow makes you fake.
