Sure he has a few highlight plays a week, but boots the routine plays. His strike out rate is ridiculous. He’s an average SS at best, and now won’t use his speed

You can't stress enough how important it's been for the Reds to have JJ Bleday, who opened the year in Triple-A, and Nathaniel Lowe, a minor league free agent, proving to be middle of the lineup pieces. They're critical parts of what makes the lineup as deep as it is.

After his most recent start, Chris Paddack spoke at length about how frustrated he was by the walks. His walk rate is up significantly to what it was a year ago. Two walks have caught up to him in the second inning as the Braves take a 3-0 lead.

Blake Dunn has saved a homer and a double in this inning. He was working specifically with Collin Cowgill on that throw from right field the other day (Dunn has played there a few times with Friedl in center). Practice pays off (they also practice home run robberies).
