Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people realise.
He systemically consolidated power for 16 yrs, fixed the electoral map, abused gov power for political purposes & censored media.
The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.

This is one of the reasons why I have such a hard time having conversations with people irl. I used to get told I was being annoying back in middle school all the time. I now always have this voice in my head telling me to shut up and that I'm being annoying when I talk. It sucks

there’s actually a second layer of symbolism here! the symbol is normally a Y facing the correct way up—an abstraction of the three branches meeting in downtown—but is flipped upside down when representing anything related to engineering to symbolize engineers reversing the river

Just noticed my favorite old Chicago symbol on this traffic control electric@box at 53rd/Lake Park. Look ancient but it is not. Unless you consider something like 10-20 years old ancient. Most here know this but it’s not a peace sign—the lines in the circle represent the Chicago River and its north and south branches. Not fair to the West Side I suddenly realize.
