@JrInTheFlesh20 I’m more impressed with Pope’s basketball accolades as a player than I am any of the other names mentioned. Brian Scalabrine once said he’s closer to LeBron in his prime than the average person would be to him. Pope would undoubtedly give any of those coaches mentioned buckets.

Mark Pope needs to have the ability to look into these recruits eyes and tell them: “You don’t think I know what it takes to play in the NBA? I played there six seasons, which is longer than most any other coach you’d be looking at played in it.” Get real with them. If they want to argue he doesn’t know what it takes to make the NBA…just make them look dumb (and wrong). Did Danny Hurley play in the NBA? Did Todd Golden play in the NBA? Did Dusty May play in the NBA? Did Tommy Lloyd play in the NBA? Did Pat Kelsey play in the NBA? Play that game with them if that’s what they want to play.

John Calipari ran the Kentucky program into the ground, quit and walked away from a lifetime contract, and then inherited an Elite 8-level program from Musselman—and now everyone from the national media on down is acting like he’s a magician for winning a conference tournament. It’s honestly bizarre. People’s memories are so short.

There seems to have been zero point to winning the SEC tourney. One and done 'Bama gets an extra two days off, a Friday start, plays fairly close to home and is a higher 4 seed than Arkansas which has to play on three days rest 1,600 miles from home. The committee is clueless.

People that are fans of Duke basketball without any connection to current or former players…..are just telling on themselves.
