Despite comprising only 4% of all physicians, emergency physicians provide nearly 2/3 of acute care for uninsured patients, as required by EMTALA. This role emphasizes the vital importance of emergency departments in healthcare. #emergencymedicine

When I welcomed President Zelenskyy to Ireland, I met a leader working around the clock for his people and his country. I assured him of our support then and that support stands today. Europe must and will remain united. Slava Ukraini.

@Niall_Boylan It’s not right. So many people who work so hard in this country & yet struggle to afford their meds, can’t buy a house etc. it’s a shame. We need to look after our own

What is going on in this country. I have had people born, raised and paid tax in this country on radio and podcasts who have cancer who can’t afford medication or GP visits and fighting for a medical cards to no avail. Nobody should be denied unaffordable vital medical care but I can see why people are getting really angry with what is becoming more and more, a two tier system.

“A full medical card” is being provided by the HSE for both Ukrainians and international protection applicants, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has today confirmed.
