I was not even 20 when he contested and I had read everything I needed to know he was going to be a disaster. If people like this could be fooled by Buhari, then we are never going to make it in this country. I was a fucking teenager and I knew that this man was a disaster
Oo Nwoye@OoTheNigerian

Bobs, I really, really liked Buhari. Called him "My General". I supported him long before anyone I knew. Voted for him from 2007 to 2015. Created his Facebook fan page in 2009 and grew it to 200K members. [interesting fact: during the post election 2011 riots when everyone was calling on Buhari to issue a statement condemning the riots, I issued one from the fan page and the press ran with it. I hope it helped douse the tension.] For the 2015 elections, I was on his bandwagon before the primaries. Even took a selfie with him Dec 2014 - not sure any one did before me. It was easy to believe him and the alternative wasn't a choice. On the day before the elections I was setting up a call center in Kaduna. And returned to Lagos that same day to vote for him in Lekki. I remember the inauguration, there was just so much hope. Tears may have welled up in my eyes as he took his oath of office. Then declared "I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" There is a video I have from that day I may share today. A massive crowd of "urchins" broke through the barricade by Eagles Square but all they wanted was to wave. After the elections I met with him at Defence House Abuja. If I wanted a job in the administration, all I needed to do was hang around as I was part of TBO - The Buhari Organization led by Hameed Ali, his Chief of Staff. But I had a startup to run and I don't do "hangers on". I was confident the delay in appointing ministers was due to his waiting to implement The Oronsaye report. What a disappointment he turned out to be. He's the last politician that can ever disappoint me the way he did. By 2018, I don comot had for e matter. But man, the guy had absolute carriage, poise and charisma. At the same time, lacked any level of depth. Had so many blind spots. Placed loyalty first and no care for competence and had a retinue of who is who of corruption around him. Of course, the Shite massacres and October 20th Lekki Massacre will forever remain stains on him. As with every human, the story is complex. But here is a man that Nigeria gave everything to and he gave her his minimum in return. But did he have more to give? I doubt it. Anyway, he's dead now and I definitely feel no joy. I just feel sad that a story that could have ended in so much glory, is bleh. Ah well.. farewell, General Muhammadu Buhari.

@KerenKBitto They do it to SS. People too, anybody not from the south west is Igbo to them, as far as you’re from the south you’re an Igbo person.

Oh this 😂😆 Most Yoruba people INTENTIONALLY act like they have never heard of Tiv, Jukun, Birom, Nupe or other northern tribes. Everybody is Hausa according to them. It always pissed me off in law school, and still does till date. Even if you haven’t met a Tiv or Birom person, didn’t you do social studies? Or they only taught you people 3 tribes in the SW?
Not Zumzum.@rayadzimeson

Dyggggg I’m literally tired of telling people in this law school I’m not Hausa. You specifically tell them and they keep insisting I’m Hausa. Yoruba people especially. I’ve decided to call them whatever I deem fit.

They don’t hate those tweets as much as they hate the fact that the lady isn’t Igbo.

The only reason they are hounding @eldivine Is because he is Igbo, I just want to imagine what they would have done if that lady in question was also Igbo.

There’s not a single Yoruba feminist that I know of that hasn’t discussed tribal bigotry extensively. We even drew a nexus to classism and colorism. But you dirty bastards want us to do Yoruba ronu by force and it’ll never fucking happen.

Funny enough a whole lot of women have spoken against it, so it’s really not a win against feminism or what not. My own hot take is that “you don’t look Yoruba” is not a slur.
刺客@namedToobi

This isn't a case of someone is bad. Its a case of bigotry against Yoruba Women. Like particularly women and girls. You'd think someone's feminism would prevent them from doing that, you'd think the bigotry would be non-gender specific or at men. Its was 2013 though

@Whatever__247 @BlehisBack Besides there are physical attributes that are common to different tribes in Nigeria, my mom is Akwa Ibom and she is still always shocked when I see girls and guessed they are from her states, and I’m always correct 7/10. These things are just being interpreted

Should we say it as it is???? “You don’t look Yoruba” was a backhanded compliment for Yoruba women who were perceived as beautiful.

Most realtors in Nigeria are working hard but earning nothing. The problem isn’t the market. It’s the system they’re using. Today I’m breaking down what actually works — free, virtual, 7:30PM. Drop ‘IN’ below and I’ll send you the link directly.
