@EBL2017 Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Alexis Sanchez, Marc Cucurella, Florian Wirtz, Morgan Gibbs White, and Frenkie De Jong. Were all Pep/City targets that all fell through. Happens to every club, some are better run than others hence why they’ve got silverware.

You could count on one hand how many times Guardiola wanted a player and City didn’t deliver for him. With Arteta, inspector gadget wouldn’t be able to count how many times he has been let down in the market. Morgan Rogers is one of many, many cases over the years. MANY cases!

I can assure you of one thing. Those within Arsenal, will not care one bit about the ‘optics’ of this Rogers move to Chelsea. They don’t care how it looks, or how it may feel, or what people say about it / them. Coming in to the summer, the club were led to believe that a deal would be achievable at around £80m to £90m. For Arsenal that represented value. Arsenal knew the fee that would get this deal done. They’ve known for a few weeks. They decided not to act upon it. Somewhere, at some point - the scales tipped further away from what Arsenal viewed as value. Whether Arsenal fans agree with that or not, is irrelevant. This is not me defending the club. My opinion doesn’t matter - this is just an objective view of how the recruitment team at Arsenal operate. This is a club that signed Madueke last summer despite protests. However, it is one less option on the market in an already scarce market. So let’s see what Arsenal have planned.

Your argument for Rice is flawed as we had no alternative at the time, it was do or die. £117M for Morgan Rogers is crazy, much like £89M for Mudryk was.
