Rand Paul (R-KY) tells me that the COVID-19 whistleblower who will testify publicly & in person before his committee tomorrow morning is an active CIA employee who will testify that the intelligence community has covered up the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic for years. "I think this whistleblower will help to confirm that this was known, has been known for a long time, and that when the scientists at the CIA looked at this, they discovered or they concluded that the virus had come from the lab," Sen. Paul tells me. "What we're going to find is that the cover up is a real thing, that there are members of the community, the intelligence community, that still don't want the truth to come out. I've said the government was involved not only in funding this research, but then in trying to obscure the truth. And the truth is the US government funded research in Wuhan, China, and that research led to a virus that escaped, escaped the lab, in all likelihood accidentally." We might really want to consider this a little more. 1966 - 1973 • Unchecked fiscal expansion (Vietnam + Great Society) from 1953-1966 • Dollar decoupled from gold as Nixon ends Bretton Woods 1971 (dollar goes through devaluation) • 1973 OPEC embargo Triggered by U.S. support for Israel in the Yom Kippur War, this quadrupled oil prices, causing supply shocks that spiked energy costs (well isn't that just interesting) • Fed gets trapped with fight inflation OR save growth, but it can't be both • Valuation compression took place as corporate earnings grew modestly, but P/E multiples contracted sharply as investors demanded higher yields in an inflationary world. • Result: stocks FLAT nominally, and - 50% or so in real terms 2026 • Decade+ of deficit spending.. (2009 - 2026) • Dollar down 10% in 2025 which just so happens to be the biggest drop since… 1973 • U.S. Supporting Israel war with Iran || Strait of Hormuz "closed" (basically is) & now oil is building above $100 a barrel (Nearly up 100% YTD(was last night)) now you see why 1973 opec was interesting • This can lead to a trapped Fed due to: tariff inflation with oil triggered inflation now a risk and we are possibly meeting slowing growth (Ai Might be able to save this(I use might loosely)) • S&P P/E sitting 2.3 standard deviations above historical average • Valuation compression is very modest right now but if this continues.. the red flag will raise higher Results: TBD, but... I don't think im reaching to say the last 16 to 17 years echoes 1953-1973 a little bit closer here than the 90's.
