If the government can ban hosepipe use for the tax payers of the country, but allow those on benefits to enjoy the freedom of using them, then surely, it's not at all about the level of water available to the people in the country. It has to be about control and division.

@Elizabe13014545 I was a teacher. Retired at 62 exhausted. I know of at least 6 ex-colleagues who died and I only know of the ones I kept in touch with.

I was very fortunate that when I retired women could retire at 60. Now they want to up the retirement age to 68. I worked in an office with 11 other people 3 of them died before their 68th birthday.

I am so sick of left-wing extremism. All the evidence shows it is the LEFT not the right that is most likely to support violence and harassment against its political opponents. There is no equivalence. Left-wing extremism is a much bigger problem.

We now have 2 tier hose pipe bans in the UK. Scroungers can use hosepipes to water their gardens Tax payers can't! DO NOT COMPLY. Go about your garden watering as normal, there is no such thing as a water shortage on an island surrounded by water! Government IS THE ENEMY.

@katy_fit I am retired and tech savvy but hate the need to do everything online.

I'm going to just vent here. This is unfair for Senior Citizens. You can't expect Seniors who are not up to speed with technology nor want to learn it, to be forced to use it. You can't check in to the doctors office without your cell phone, can't get access to test results without your phone, can't shop at the grocery store for sales or deals without your phone, can't get tickets to events without your phone. Some bills can only be paid online. It's sickening and unfair and I can only imagine how stressful and isolated our Senior population feels. Do better, world. It is not about them needing to keep up, but allowing for a gentler and familiar options.

@AllisonPearson Please don't use innocent children for political point scoring. Every school I have ever been involved with, over 40+ years, has celebrated the World Cup, irrespective of the party in power, just as they are this year.

So let me get this straight. 5million households have been told there is a hosepipe ban because of water shortages but if you are on benefits & have 3 children this doesn’t apply to you & you can water your garden as much as you like but if you go out & work you can’t. Can someone beam me up please as this country has lost the plot. How is this even real 🙀
