Yesterday, Nancy Glick, NCL’s Director of Food and Nutrition Policy, joined @HealthyEquity's briefing on compounded GLP-1 weight-loss drugs in the Rayburn House Office Building. Speakers warned that misleading ads and regulatory gaps have fueled unsafe, unapproved products that put patients, especially women and communities of color, at risk. NCL and 12 health groups are urging the FTC to act on deceptive telehealth ads for compounded GLP-1 weight-loss drugs. These ads hide risks and mislead consumers about FDA approval.
