Frontline feedback continues to drive meaningful product improvements across our national membership, and we play a key role in bringing those insights forward to suppliers.
After our members raised concerns about look-alike risks and dose-extraction issues with @STERIMAXINC 's heparin 5000 units/0.5 mL, we worked closely with SteriMax to review the issues and support next steps. SteriMax acted quickly, securing Health Canada approval to increase the fill volume and update the cap to red, aligning with the existing product on the market. All SteriMax stock currently available reflects these improvements, ensuring members receive the updated, safer product.
Members also reported look-alike risks with @aspenpharma's lidocaine with epinephrine products. With input from our Product Evaluation Committee, we collaborated on a revised label mock-up that Aspen adopted. The updated labels have now been approved by Health Canada, and Aspen worked quickly to get these improved labels, expected by April 2026, to members.
These improvements highlight the impact of a strong feedback loop, where member vigilance, supplier responsiveness, and HealthPRO Canada’s coordination come together to strengthen medication safety nationwide.
