***PRIORITIZE CARBS POST WORKOUT???*** Anyone touting post workout carb prioritization isn’t familiar with all of the relevant research on glycogen replenishment following muscle damaging exercise bouts The answer is basically that we don’t see any uptick in muscle glycogen replenishment with increased carbohydrate consumption in the post workout window (following the type of exercise bouts mentioned) I don’t think it’s going to cause you any problems and I think having some as a hedge is probably a pretty good idea, but carbs definitely don’t need to be made a priority post workout Practically speaking: - pound A LOT of carbs and maybe some protein PRE workout (how much and how far out is going to depend on your individual needs / the types of foods being consumed) - pound protein and maybe some carbs POST workout shortly after your workout concludes (again, how much is going to depend on your individual needs)

@DeanTTraining Genuine question - I keep seeing people on here saying carbing up post workout is very important for gains. I’d expect to see some rice, potatoes, quinoa or something like that with the chicken. Is protein really the only thing to worry about?

@dnewmire Thanks for the reply. The reason I’m asking is cause we all seem to give too much attention to MPS. But does it actually really matter at the end of the day if some foods cause greater MPS than others?
